Our School Prospectus

This prospectus is designed to give information to parents considering a place for their child at Polegate School.

It is very difficult for a prospectus to capture the magic of our school and convey what makes our school so special. The best way to find out more about our school is to visit us and experience the irresistible learning that is part of every school day. It is always best to visit during a school day when the children are here.

Prospective parents are invited to make an appointment to visit the school and meet the Headteacher.

Admissions to Polegate School

You do have the right to state a preference for up to three different schools that you would like your child to attend. Whichever schools you prefer must be listed on your application as only preferences named will be considered.

In general, if a school has enough places for everyone who has applied, then all children will be allocated a place.

East Sussex will not overcrowd a school if there are vacancies at other schools and we will not create additional places unless there is a shortage of school places to meet a local need. If a school receives more applications than places available, East Sussex will apply their admissions policy to decide which children will be offered places. If it is not possible to meet any of your preferences, your child will be allocated a place at the nearest school to your home with a place available. This may be some distance away.
