Welcome to Polegate Collaborative Partner School

Welcome to Polegate Collaborative Partner School

The school’s own vision of ‘learning without limits’ is now very much becoming a reality in every sense of the word!

Once this vision was just a focus within Polegate School and now it lies at the heart of our ambition to make a difference beyond our school and is at the heart of the ambition of our Collaborative Partner School Alliance. This vision has no limits, it extends beyond the walls of Polegate School with the aim of reaching other schools and making a difference.

Our VISION is to develop a culture of sharing excellent practice in education that exists within the alliance schools and beyond to create a positive impact on every child’s life chances. We aim to do this by providing high quality professional development for teachers and school leaders in response to needs. Please tell us if you want something that is not currently provided.

Quality is always better than quantity

We have carefully selected courses that are not on offer in East Sussex and provide something different.

They are not theoretical but grounded in the reality of working in school. Courses that empower teachers and leaders and tools they can use immediately. We have attended these courses ourselves and so can recommend them. We have put together a series of training courses that we think offer something different. Practical and grounded in what schools need to make a difference to outcomes.

The broad theme for this year is ‘FEEDBACK’ this has become central to our offer this year

Providing effective feedback is challenging. Yet it’s a key feature of high performing teams.

The Collaborative Partner School offer this year is a range of strategies to improve how we all give and receive feedback. Frequent and effective feedback increases productivity and team harmony. Getting really good at providing feedback and dealing with conflict is necessary to create an outstanding school and team at all levels: from pupils, parents, school staff and senior leadership team. Conflict is the currency of leadership. But most of us are not trained in how to handle conflict well. A series of training sessions and resources address this. Feedback plays a central role in teachers’ work and is frequently the focus of lively debate. The EIP conference tackles the workload issue.
