Safeguarding - Working together
Safeguarding
Everyone at Polegate School works together to ensure that everyone in our school community is kept safe.
We are able to do this by contributing to:
Providing a safe environment for everyone.
Identifying children who are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm
taking appropriate action with the aim of making sure they are kept safe both at home and at school.
If we think a child at Polegate is in need because they are suffering or likely to suffer significant harm, we will take action.
Please refer to our safeguarding policies to find out more.
Staying safe online
Online activity can be monitored via your broadband provider to ensure that your child stays safe on the internet.
Here is a handy guide to staying safe onlineOperation Encompass
At Polegate School we participate in Operation Encompass.
Operation encompass is a joint operation with Sussex Police which has been designed to provide early reporting to schools of any domestic abuse incidents that occur when a child or young person is present. Early reporting enables the school and safeguarding team to better support any pupils who may be at risk. We recognise that without early support and intervention, adverse childhood experiences such as domestic abuse can impact on a child's social, physical, emotional and behavioural development.
