Our last Ofsted was in April 2018. The letter states:
'You provide inspirational leadership, which has led the school from strength to strength, building successfully on the two outstanding elements at the last inspection. You have set out a clear and uncompromising vision for educational excellence that is shared by all staff and governors…'
'Effective and dynamic leadership at all levels has led the school from strength to strength.'
April 2018 Ofsted
It was the best outcome we could have achieved and for the whole school team I am so, so pleased that their hard work and commitment to your children and the school has been recognised. Words like ‘exemplary, exceptional, dynamic, remarkable and determined are used throughout the letter to describe the school; staff and children. I could not be prouder.
Because the inspector could see evidence of outstanding it has been recommended that we have an earlier inspection within two years rather than the normal 2 years. As the framework changed in January 2018 a short 1 day inspection does not change the school's grades. We are eagerly awaiting our next full 2 day inspection!
We don’t do anything for Ofsted. I have always been absolutely determined that we do the best for your children in school; decisions we make are based on this. We are aiming for exceptional and are always striving to be better and improve. Nothing will change that – we are never complacent.
A press release on Friday 4th July stated:
The Ofsted report made much reference to the positive attitude of pupils, stating that, ‘Pupils are determined to do their very best work. Handwriting is highly impressive and pupils keep their books neat because they are proud of their work.’
It added. ‘ behaviour is outstanding. Around the school, pupils are polite and kind to one another, reflecting the respect adults show them. Pupils feel very safe at the school. Attendance has improved rapidly and is high because pupils like being at the school.’
We were particularly praised for getting pupils off to a flying start at school. The report stated that ‘The exceptional resources, outstanding teaching and well established routines in the Early Years Foundation Stage mean that children quickly develop a thirst for learning.’
The inspectors were impressed with the management of the school, describing them as inspirational and strong. It was felt they had established a compelling vision for the school.
Our priority as a school over the last three years has been on developing a love and passion for reading.
This has had and continues to have a very high profile across the school. We are already seeing the impact of the changes and strategies that we have introduced. The children are making excellent progress across the school in reading. A large part of the success of our measures has been the partnership with parents. The whole school community has been developing a love of reading together.
Our ambition is to provide an outstanding education for all children in our school. We have had our best results ever in 2013-2014 and this is testament to the hard work of the whole school. The success of our school is a real team effort, everyone plays an important part. We have dedicated staff that go above and beyond, wonderful children and a supportive parent body.
Ofsted has introduced Parent view which gives parents a chance to tell them what they think about their child’s school. Please follow the links on the left if you want to view our results or add your own views here.Give your views on the school
